MIXING
Mixing is required within a process to blend products together, provide
agitation, or shear liquids.
General mixing takes place normally at low speeds, for this a gear device
is used on the mixer head. In addition to the careful design and application
of the mixer blades, the gear drive must be properly engineered and manufactured
to provide the reliability necessary for today’s operations. The
gear unit is subject to high torques and loading and must be an essential
consideration in the purchase of a mixer.
High shear mixing can provide particle size reduction or the rapid dispersion/blending
of solution or powders in liquids.
